Boylan offers a comprehensive counseling department, which includes academic, wellness, and college counseling. Each of our students meets with their academic counselor at least once a year to ensure they are on track to graduate, to plan out future course schedules, and for career counseling. We also have a dedicated wellness counselor who meets with students who are struggling with mental health and need extra support. Our college counselor, Mr. Hohn, works with every senior to make sure they find the best fit for their post-Boylan career. He helps with college applications, FAFSA, scholarships, and anything else our students need to ensure their transition to college is smooth and successful. Our counselors are yet another reason why a Boylan education makes all the difference: their dedication to our students’ success and wellbeing is unmatched.

All outside/private scholarships are listed in Naviance Student under the Colleges tab. Click on Scholarship List and you will see several scholarships. Mr. Hohn will be updating the list as we receive information about additional scholarships. Check back often and be mindful of deadlines!

The following College Admissions Counselors are scheduled to visit Boylan on the following dates/times. Visits will take place in room 213. Make sure to check the college visit schedule below.
Juniors and seniors are encouraged to participate in these visits. If you wish to meet with any of the representatives, please sign up through your Naviance Student account, at least 24 hours prior to the visit. If you have questions, please see Mr. Hohn in room 213 or email him.

Boylan Catholic High School welcomes college admissions representatives during the fall and the spring.
The Counseling Department will schedule colleges/universities, trade schools and military representatives throughout the school day. Visits can be made at 8:00, 8:55, 9:50, 11:35, 12:25, 1:20, and 2:15. To set up a visit, please visit RepVisits.
When visiting Boylan, please note that our address is 4000 St. Francis Dr, Rockford, Il. You may enter through Door D off of Muldoon Dr. As a reminder, you will be asked to present a photo ID when you enter the building. A member of our counseling staff will meet you upon your arrival. Students must set up an appointment with Mr. Hohn if they are requesting a Letter of Recommendation or using The Common Application.
Please remember that recommendation requests must be submitted at least two weeks before the preferred deadline and students must fill out a Letter of Recommendation Survey in Naviance Student.
