Boylan Varsity Soccer Team Wins IHSA 2A Soccer State Championship
On Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 2:30pm at Boylan H.S., we will be celebrating our Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team’s 1st Place win in the IHSA 2A Soccer State Finals. Media please enter through Door D. All of our students and faculty will gather to celebrate them and their fantastic season.
Boys’ soccer, led by coaches Bart Boguszewski, Taylor Meyers, Kiley Beck, won all 9 of their NIC-10 conference games to snag the NIC-10 Conference Championship before dominating every team they faced in the postseason. Heading into the State Final Tournament, Boylan held a 25-1 record with their only loss being to Huntley High School (non-conference) in their season opener. The Titans have been unstoppable ever since.
In the first game of the State Final Tournament, Boylan defeated Chicago Washington with a 2-1 victory. On Saturday, Boylan faced Troy Triad High School for the State Title. With less than 50 seconds left, Jack Bonavia ‘22 was awarded a penalty kick that broke the 0-0 score and led the team to their IHSA State Title. We are so proud of our Titans!
