The Counseling Department provides service and information in the following areas:
- Academic advising
- College and career advising
- Post-secondary financial aid and scholarships
- Testing: Practice ACT, PSAT, ACT, AP, ACT EXPLORE, ACT PLAN
The academic counselors schedule an appointment at least once yearly with each student. In addition to the annual academic appointment, students are always welcome to make an appointment with their academic counselor or the college coordinator. To schedule an appointment, students should request in person or via email.

How can my school counselor help me?
All outside/private scholarships are listed in Naviance Student under the Colleges tab. Click on Scholarship List and you will see several scholarships. Mr. Hohn will be updating the list as we receive information about additional scholarships. Check back often and be mindful of deadlines! Questions? See Mr. Hohn.
College Admissions Counselors at Boylan
The following College Admissions Counselors are scheduled to visit Boylan on the following dates/times. Visits will take place in room 213. Make sure to check the schedule below for visitation times.
For College Representatives Interested in Visiting Boylan
The Counseling Department welcomes college admissions representatives during the fall and the spring.
The Counseling Department will schedule two colleges/universities per period, with special exceptions during peak travel times. Visits can be made at 8:00, 8:55, 9:50, 11:35, 12:25, 1:20, and 2:15. To set up a visit, please visit RepVisits.com.
When visiting Boylan, you may park in the parking circle located outside the main entrance off of Campus Hills Blvd. As a reminder, you will be asked to present a photo ID when you enter the building. We look forward to welcoming you to our school!
Letters of Recommendations
Students must set up an appointment with Mr. Hohn if they are requesting a Letter of Recommendation or using The Common Application.
Please remember that recommendation requests must be submitted at least two weeks before the preferred deadline and students must fill out a Letter of Recommendation Survey in Naviance Student.
ALL transcripts for college admissions, regardless of graduation year, are to be sent electronically through the web service Parchment. If you have questions about Parchment, please contact Mrs. Fehrle.
For graduates needing an official sealed transcript for job applications or scholarships, you may request a transcript by submitting this form View to Boylan’s main office. The cost is $5.00 per transcript (cash or check only), payable at time of request. All requests must be made in writing.
