Boylan’s music program offers students the opportunity to participate in two ensembles. Jazz Band meets before school, three days a week. Concert Band meets during every school day. Students must addition for both. Both ensembles perform at various concerts throughout the year including Boylan’s Fall Concert, Christmas Concert, Pops Concert, and the Fine Arts Fair. Other performance opportunities include playing at home football and basketball games and performing as part of Boylan’s spring musical. Students also have the opportunity to audition for Illinois Music Education Association ensembles.
For beginner musicians, Boylan offers classes in beginning guitar and beginning piano. Both classes are one semester in length and are designed for the student who has no background but wants to learn either instrument.
