Boylan's Theatre Program prides itself on being a fun and creative outlet for our students looking to expand their knowledge and hone their skills in the theatre arts. No previous experience in theatre is needed to join the program; the students who join us come to us with all levels of experience. The goal is to provide the opportunity for growth, and allow the students to find something new, fun, and challenging.
Boylan Theatre allows for students to get involved both onstage and backstage, in many capacities such as costume design, hair and make-up, prop design and building, technical direction, light design and rigging, sound engineering, scenic artistry, set building, and running crew. And even in leadership roles such as dance captains, student vocal directors, assistant directors, stage managers, and technical direction.
The Boylan Players (the moniker for Boylan Theatre) puts on at least two productions a school year; a straight play, smaller musical, or Shakespeare in the fall semester, and a musical in the spring. Outside of these two productions, an Improv Club meets once a week, which is a fun club that allows students to learn improvisational skills, as well as opportunities for student produced and directed productions.
Whether you enjoy performing on stage as a singer, dancer or actor, or you prefer the behind-the-scenes work, Boylan Theatre is a program where students can strive for excellence, creative expression, but most importantly, have fun.
