To our Boylan community,
We are in the midst of an unprecedented challenge.
The COVID-19 crisis affecting our world has brought a unique set of issues that our school community has to work through. It has been a week of rapid change as we navigate this global health crisis in the best way possible for our students. When we first received news of our building closure, we were able to quickly implement our e-learning curriculum. The success of this program, which was developed last year to provide uninterrupted learning to our students during emergency building closures, is due in large part to the resourcefulness and determination of our faculty. Because of them, we can continue offering an exceptional education through these uncertain times. We were also able to move quickly because of our 1:1 technology program, which outfits every Boylan student and faculty member with a Chromebook.
While e-learning hasn’t been without challenges, it has been so encouraging to watch how our community has adjusted to this new reality. The collaboration, professionalism, and patience of our faculty and students is inspiring to see. I remain convinced that the quality of education our young men and women will be receiving in the weeks ahead will be as excellent as any that Boylan has delivered.
It’s because of supporters like you that initiatives like our 1:1 technology program are possible. Through the ongoing generosity of our Boylan family, we are in a position to continue to educate our students during this challenging time.
But we are facing some critical shortfalls. Our budget and resources are being stressed by this pandemic. We must raise more than $350,000 to meet our fundraising goal this year and our Gala - one of our biggest philanthropic events of the year - is being postponed for the health and safety of the community. The dollars raised by this event are paramount to our ability to educate students and grant the necessary tuition assistance to those who demonstrate need.
Today, we are launching our COVID-19 Support Initiative as part of our Annual Fund to provide financial assistance for our families, and critical dollars for the continued education of our students. More than $20,000 has already been donated to support us through this time, and we hope that you will rally around us as well.
