ROCKFORD, Ill. — On Friday, May 20 Boylan Catholic High School formally recognized the graduation of the Class of 2022. For the first time since 2019, Boylan was able to host its traditional commencement ceremony in the main gym. Graduates were welcome to bring up to eight guests to share in this monumental moment.
Speeches were given by the Most Reverend David J. Malloy, Bishop of Rockford, valedictorian Sarah Grace Bowyer, and salutatorian Mateus Trigo.
Among the 176 graduates there are 28 Illinois State Scholars and 63 National Honor Society members. To date, 60 members of Boylan’s Class of 2022 have been offered more than $22 million in college scholarships.
This year’s Boylan graduates will be attending colleges and universities around the globe, including: Arizona State University, Auburn University, Augustana College, Aurora University, Aveda Institute of Beauty-Milwaukee, Blackhawk Technical College, Bradley University, Butler University, Carroll University, Carthage University, Clemson University, Concordia University-Wisconsin, Creighton University, DePaul University, Eastern Illinois University, Educators of Beauty College of Cosmetology, Florida Southwestern State College, Grand Valley State, Illinois State University, Iowa State University, John Carroll University, Judson University, Lone Star College, Loyola University-Chicago, Marquette University, Michigan State University, Michigan Technological University, North Central College, Northern Illinois University, Northern Michigan University, Parkland Community College, Purdue University, Rock Valley College, Rockford University, Saint Ambrose University, Saint Charles Community College, Saint John’s University, Saint Leo’s University, Saint Louis University, Saint Norbert University, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, Syracuse University, Tricoci University of Beauty Culture, University of Alabama, University of Arizona, University of Arkansas, University of Illinois-Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Iowa, University of Kentucky, University of Missouri, University of Notre Dame, University of Saint Andrews (Scotland), University of San Francisco, University of Utah, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Valparaiso University, Western Illinois University, Whitman University, Wichita State University and Xavier University.
The Class of 2022 will also be represented at the CLI Conservatory and in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marines, U.S. Coast Guard and IBEW Local 362.
